SUPERFICIAL AND MEDIUM PEELS

Peels: face and hands – Cannes & Nice | Dr. Victor Médard de Chardon

DEFINITIONS AND AIMS OF PEELS

Peels regenerate the surface of the skin by means of light abrasion. Several resurfacing techniques are available to treat imperfections of the upper layers of the skin:

  • Chemical resurfacing: known as Peeling
  • Thermal resurfacing: known as Laser abrasion
  • Mechanical resurfacing: known as Dermabrasion

Peels use plant or chemical substances to regenerate the superficial layer of the skin. By exfoliating this superficial layer, the skin becomes smoother and certain imperfections are erased, including enlarged pores, sebum deposits, dark spots (from sun exposure), acne, blackheads and very fine lines. Expression lines (brow wrinkles, frown lines, crow's feet) are obviously treated using Botox injections.

There are several types of peel available: fruit acids (glycolic, lactic, mandelic, etc.), so-called weak acids (lactic, salicylic), resorcinol, TCA and phenol.

Your aesthetic will surgeon decide on a technique at your consultation, based on your skin type and the desired result. Peels are performed at the surgeon's office in Cannes (Eden Palace, 145 rue d’Antibes – Cannes) or Nice.
