Labial reduction – Cannes & Nice | Dr. Victor Médard de Chardon

What is labial reduction?

Labial reduction is intimate surgery to reduce the inner vaginal lips (labia minora) .

What are the effects of hypertrophic labia minora?

Labia minora that are too large can be a nuisance from both an aesthetic and functional point of view (causing discomfort during intercourse or in certain clothing). Women often have a genuine complex about them. This simple and painless intimate surgery reduces the size of the labia minora and brings a high level of patient satisfaction.

There are two techniques for reduction of the labia minora:

  • Linear reduction of the labia minora
  • V-wedge reduction of the labia minora

The best surgical technique will be chosen by the aesthetic surgeon based on the clinical appearance of the labia minora.

During the same operation a clitoral hood reduction can be performed. If needed, to further conceal the labia minora and if the labia majora are atrophic, labial augmentation of the outer lips is sometimes performed.
